Today’s reads have been read and approved by Kelsey. Enjoy.
A Tale of Two Ozs- by Yoni Freedhoff, who is an incredibly intelligent and excellent doctor fighting the good fight against obesity and misinformation all in one fell swoop! I really enjoy perusing his blog as he’s quick to cut through crap and continually preaches that whole food, balance in life and exercise are the keys to successful weight loss/healthy lives. This post caught my eye as Dr. Oz (of whom I’ve been skeptical of since he first appeared on Oprah) seems to find new ways to make me cringe when I see his claims in supermarket magazines.
Real Life Training and Eating- by Dan John. Easily one of my favorite strength coaches. I wish I could be as brief and effective as him! Also, cuts through bunk and spouts solid fitness and performance truths, yet keeps it elegantly simple.
Todd over at Toadally Primal has a post for chocolate bacon. Whoa, wait, Kelsey isn’t this blog about being healthy and since when do those two things count as healthy? Well, when you have dark chocolate and locally farmed (i.e. not commercial thus lack of gross hormones and whatever else commercial pork has in it) this is not a no-no food. Just a little-bit-at-a-time food. What’s the point of living without chocolate?
